Introducing our brand-new Organic Merino Wool Nature, exclusively from Austrian Merino sheep raised under controlled organic conditions (kbT). This entirely regional organic natural product is uniquely available at strick-mir-was.at and our new brand BIOWOL. Every step of processing, from gentle wool washing to spinning, is carried out in Austria.
The wool is available in natural white, ideal for dyeing or utilizing its natural color in projects. We also offer additional colors hand-dyed with pure natural dyes. Our organic Merino wool is guaranteed mulesing-free and offers excellent quality, which is slightly rougher than foreign Merino wool but distinguished by its naturalness.
Care instructions for an even softer experience: Our organic Merino wool is very gently washed and can be rewashed with a mild wool detergent before or after crafting to make it fluffier. Additionally, you can make the wool softer and fluffier with a lanolin bath. Here is a simple guide:
- Purchase pure lanolin (wool wax) and dishwashing liquid in equal amounts.
- Dissolve 1 teaspoon of lanolin with dishwashing liquid in about 300-500 ml of boiling water until the fat is completely dissolved.
- Pour the lukewarm mixture over the wool in a suitable container.
- Add lukewarm water until everything is covered and let it sit for 12-24 hours.
- Remove the wool and let it dry.
- Process can be repeated.
