With my BIOWOL Organic Merino & Jura Wool, I offer you a special blend of white organic Merino wool and naturally brown organic Jura wool, sourced exclusively from Austrian sheep raised according to certified organic livestock farming standards (kbT).

What makes this yarn truly special is its beautiful, natural beige shade. The colour is created entirely by carefully blending the two wool varieties – without any additional dyes or dyeing processes.

To achieve this, the brown Jura wool is carefully hand-sorted by colour before being blended with white Merino wool. The result is a harmonious, light beige shade with its own distinctive natural character.

All processing takes place in Austria, from washing and spinning the wool to preparing the finished skeins.

My Care Tip for Extra Softness

My organic wool blend is gently washed, allowing it to retain its natural character. It may initially feel a little more textured.

I recommend gently hand-washing your finished knitted or crocheted item with a mild wool detergent. This can help the fibres become more supple and bring out the beauty of the stitches.

For additional care, you can also try a lanolin bath using pure wool wax. This may help make the fibres more supple, particularly with naturally processed wool yarns.

How to Prepare a Lanolin Bath

1. Dissolve one teaspoon of pure lanolin with approximately the same amount of mild washing-up liquid in 300–500 ml of hot water.

2. Stir thoroughly until the lanolin is evenly dispersed.

3. Dilute with lukewarm water and allow the mixture to cool to a temperature suitable for wool.

4. Gently immerse your knitted or crocheted item, making sure it is completely soaked.

5. Leave it to soak for several hours or overnight.

6. Carefully remove the item without wringing it out, then lay it flat to dry.

Tip: Use lanolin sparingly and, if necessary, test the treatment on a small knitted swatch first.
